Fort
Saint Angelo from the Upper Barraca Gardens |
|
| Fort
Saint Angelo dominates the Grand Harbour and has been
occupied since Roman times. It sits at the end of the
peninsula on which the city of Birgu is located. When
the Knights of Saint John were granted the islands by
Charles V in the 16th century, they settled on Birgu and
the Grand Master made the fort his headquarters. |
